This seems to be the year for celebrations: Canada's 150th birthday and Elizabeth's 65 years as our Queen.
Sixty-five years ago, there was the building of the '52 Canadians Arena and our own Fort Frances Canadians won the coveted Allan Cup in this new arena. The present St. Mary's Church was built that year, as well.
Sept. 4, 1952 also was a special year for some of us when we graduated from Fort Frances High School.
We students, not just grads, celebrated 25-, 40-, 50-, and 60-year reunions and, believe it or not, we've had requests from out-of-town former students who want a 65th reunion.
Carol (Kennett) Lyons and I are the only ones left from our planning committees but we are willing to plan this if there is enough interest.
If you last year in school was 1951, '52, or '53, or you just want to join us old people and are interested, please let us know. The tentative dates are July 21-22, 2017.
Please share this with friends and relatives. More information will follow.
Thank you, Mr. Editor, for printing this letter.
