I would like to give dozens of bouquets to the Boundary Waters dragon boat club.
On July 1, their club volunteered to give free rides to the general public.
My son has cerebral palsy and is legally blind but the club members were so gracious and generous. They assisted Zachary into and out of the boat.
One of the volunteers actually helped him hold the paddle and dip it in the water.
It seems a small enough gesture but it was huge for my son. For the first time in his 26 years, he felt the wind in his face, he was part of a team, and he felt he was on an equal playing field.
And you filled my heart with joy. We haven't stopped smiling since.
They are definitely a club with more than spirit. Their love and generosity shines through their good deeds.
With deep gratitude,
