Trio charged after warrant executed

On March 21, 2019 members of the Rainy River District Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Community Street Crime Unit along with members of the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit and Treaty Three Police Service executed a search warrant at a residence in the Town of Fort Frances.

As a result of this investigation, three Fort Frances individuals have been charged.

A 38-year-old woman was charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • Obstruct contrary to section 139 of the Criminal Code; and
  • Uttering Threats contrary to section 264.1(1) of Criminal Code.

A 31-year-old man was charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

And a 28-year-old man was charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act,

All three have been released from custody and will appear in court on April 29, 2019 in Fort Frances ON, to answer to the charges.
