Tips sought on Morson break-ins


Members of the Rainy River District OPP are requesting the public's assistance in solving five break-and-enters that occurred on the Red Wing Road in the Morson area over the past week.

Unknown culprit(s) entered the seasonal residences and stole numerous items, including alcohol, a generator, a television, and a number of firearms.

OPP Scenes of Crime officers and the Forensic Identification Unit are being utilized.

The investigations are in the early stages and are ongoing.

If you have information about any of these break-and-enters, or the whereabouts of the stolen property, contact the OPP immediately at 1-888-310-1122.

“SafeGuard Ontario” is a public awareness and education initiative where specially-trained members of the OPP and the OPP's Auxiliary Policing Program conduct property security reviews of homes and small businesses.

This training provides an orientation to the basic principles of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), with a primary focus on target hardening techniques to help reduce or prevent re-victimization of property crimes.
