Three hurt in collision


The Kenora OPP, with the assistance of OPP's Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI), continue to investigate a collision that closed Highway 17A for several hours yesterday.

At 4:20 p.m., police received a report of a multiple-vehicle collision on Highway 17A at Highway 658.

Police arrived at the scene and observed an SUV had left the roadway and flipped onto the hood of the vehicle, landing in a nearby parking lot.

The male driver of that vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

The passenger sustained severe injuries, as well.

Police also observed a pickup truck flipped over on the westbound shoulder, with the male driver having sustained severe injuries.

The male driver of the third vehicle did not sustain any injuries.

All vehicles were travelling westbound.

The OPP is looking for assistance from the public regarding the collision.
