During the early-morning hours of today, the Rainy River District OPP responded to a complaint in Fort Frances.
A motor vehicle was entered and items were taken.
Officers arrived within minutes and due to fresh snow, they located and arrested a 38-year-old Couchiching First Nation man, who currently is in custody facing numerous charges.
The OPP requests residents in the west end of Fort Frances to check their motor vehicle if entered or saw any suspicious activity to contact the police.
The OPP also wishes to remind the public of the “Lock it or Lose” program.
By taking simple preventative measures, such as confirming your vehicle is locked and by placing items of value out of sight or removing them from your vehicle altogether, victimization can be avoided.
