Submerged vehicle nets two charges

The Kenora OPP has charged a Winnipeg man following the discovery of a submerged vehicle.

Just before 10 a.m. yesterday, police, the fire department, and an ambulance were dispatched to a report of a vehicle underwater at the public boat launch in Keewatin.

Authorities determined no one was in the vehicle and it was pulled from the lake.

A police investigation determined the vehicle was stolen from Winnipeg.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged with theft of motor vehicle and public mischief.

He was to appear in bail court in Kenora today.
