Thanks to all who generously sponsored or contributed pictures to “Chapple’s Little Ditty Project.”
The goal was to “put Chapple on the map”–The Great Canadian Song Map, that is (a project done by Canadian Geographic Magazine to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday.
Anyone can Google and play this one or many others, or request a song, at: http://maps.canadiangeographic.ca/songmap/
We went one step further and made a special souvenir edition DVD.
These are available for $10 each, with proceeds going towards the Chapple Heritage Committee’s ongoing projects.
There still are a few left, which can be purchased at Finland Corners Takeout, the Barwick Village Restaurant, or Cloverleaf Grocery in Emo.
The Chapple Heritage Committee is trying to archive the histories of families, businesses, schools, recreation, etc., that are of interest–or will be–to future historians.
We are asking that people get their stories written up simply, using, for example, the “5 Ws”, along with some amusing anecdotes if you wish, with the understanding that they will be edited for reasons of accuracy and to prevent any defamation.
“Between the Ripples,” a publication that was done for Chapple’s centennial, still is available, so we will be looking for histories that pick up where this book left off to fill in and record the 75-100 intervening years.
Please feel free to contact members of the heritage committee to discuss or submit your story.
