The Sunset Country Regional Science Fair was held Saturday at Fort Frances High School.
Students from the Rainy River District School Board, the Northwest Catholic District School Board, and the Keewatin Patricia District School Board took part.
The winners in the junior division were 1. Jorja Renelli (KPDSB) “The Silent Killer," 2. Lauren Ross (KPDSB) "Honey vs. Bacteria," and 3. Sadie Wood (KPDSB) "Slime vs. Slime.”
An honourable mention was awarded to Monika Ruppenstein (RRDSB) for her project on “Gender Stereotypes.”
Winners in the senior division were 1. Erica Forsythe (KPDSB) “Saying Goodbye to E. coli," 2. Angie Redford (RRDSB) "Fidget Spinners: A Charged Topic," and 3. Mason Gallagher (KPDSB) "Bacteria: What Areas of Homes are the Dirtiest?”
The winners from the senior division will attend the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Ottawa in May.
