Ladies, it's going to be the pajama party of the year, and you're invited.
The Fort Frances Legion Ladies Auxiliary 29 is busy organizing it's first ladies only fundraising dinner, the PJs and Pearl's Gala, to be held Saturday, April 4 at the Legion.
The event is an exclusive, fun-filled fundraiser gala, created by women, for women. It will be a night of cocktails, appetizers, dinner and sweets. A DJ has been hired, and popular local entertainers will be performing a special skit.
“We thought it would be really fun, to have a ladies night out,” said event organizer Giselle Calder. She and a group of volunteers have been busy over the past few months collecting door prizes and silent auction items for the event. There will be games, raffles, and a PJ contest.
The dress code is your cutest pajamas and peals, said Calder.
The fundraiser is designed to complete kitchen renovations at the Legion, noted Calder. The kitchen is the hub of the Legion, hosting suppers, banquets and funerals. Proceeds from these events go back to the community, in the form of veteran's programs, healthcare, school activities and bursaries, said Calder.
“We're a very busy group. People don't realize how many things we do,” she said.
Seating is limited, so buy their tickets early. An early bird draw of a Guess purse will be open to those who buy tickets before March 15.
Tickets are $60 before March 15, and $70 afterwards. RSVP by calling Christina McDougall, 271-4292.
