Two Kenora men are facing weapons charges following an incident in downtown Kenora involving a pellet gun.
On Friday just before 9:30 p.m., members of the Kenora OPP received a number of 9-1-1 calls regarding two males in the downtown area.
One was reported to be wearing a covering on his face and carrying what appeared to be a rifle.
Police immediately attended and located the subjects fitting the description, along with the suspect firearm.
They were arrested without incident and the investigation revealed the firearm to be a pellet gun.
As a result, a 20-year-old Redditt man and a 19-year-old Kenora man have been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
They have been released and are to appear in court in Kenora on Oct. 29.
The OPP wishes to thank members of the public for recognizing this threat to public safety, and the quick manner in which they made this information available to police.
