On Saturday at 3:30 a.m., Rainy River District OPP officers received a complaint about a motor vehicle on Highway 11 in Dawson Township.
Shortly afterwards, officers received another complaint that the vehicle had left the roadway before coming to rest on railway tracks belonging to Canadian National Railway.
The driver, a 36-year-old Rainy River man, was taken to hospital for minor injuries.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for the mandatory seven days.
The driver subsequently was charged with impaired driving and failing to provide a breath sample.
He will appear in court in Fort Frances on Jan. 16.
