Next men's breakfast set to go on Saturday

The next men's fellowship breakfast will be held this Saturday (Feb. 17) at 8 a.m. at the Emo Legion.

Come for a delicious breakfast while enjoying fellowship with old and new friends.

Pastor Ryan MacDonald from the Salvation Army in Fort Frances will be the guest speaker.

Men and boys of all ages are welcome, with the cost being $12/person.

The annual “Heritage Luncheon” will be held this Friday (Feb. 16) from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Pioneer Museum, located on Tyrell Street in Emo.

The menu will be soup and sandwiches, a beverage, and dessert for only $9. There also will be a bake sale, with all proceeds going to the museum.

Come out for a great meal in support of the museum and its staff.

The next “Country Jam” will be held this Friday (Feb. 16) at the Emo Legion, with the musicians to start playing around 7 p.m.

All new musicians are invited to participate—just bring your own equipment if you have some.

Admission is $2, which helps the Legion keep the heat and lights on. The kitchen will be open for snacks and, of course, the bar is always open for a refreshment or two.

If you like old-time country music, mark this date on your calendar.

The annual “Lenten Lunch” five-week worship series is being hosted by Knox United Church in Emo.

Come and enjoy a short worship service, followed by a soup-and-sandwich lunch for $4, at noon every Wednesday from Feb. 21-March 21.

Proceeds will be donated to the Emo and District Hospital Auxiliary and the church's outreach project.

The Emo and District Lions Club once again is holding its “Lions' Share Grocery Raffle.”

First prize is a $100 grocery coupon for 52 weeks, second prize is $500 in coupons, and third prize is a $100 grocery coupon.

Prizes are redeemable at Cloverleaf Family Foods in Emo.

Tickets cost $10 each and only 2,000 have been printed.

The draw will take place on Saturday, April 21 at 5 p.m. at the Devlin Hall, with proceeds going to the club's projects in the area.

The Township of Emo is holding a skating party on Family Day (Monday, Feb. 19) from 10 a.m.-noon.

Come dressed as your favourite superhero for a chance to win a prize.

A superhero snack will be provided, and be sure to stop by the superhero photo booth to snap some “super” cute family photos.
