New exhibit starting at Dryden museum

Category:

The Dryden & District Museum's summer exhibit, “Inside Out: Objects en Masse,” will feature artifacts from the permanent collection not normally exhibited.

This exhibit will be on display from Tuesday, July 2 to Friday, Sept. 13.

This exhibit will include different display areas such as: “What's in Your Smartphone," showcasing artifacts and archival material to represent the different apps that are available, "Inside the Mill,” an extensive photograph collection including over 600 photos of the mill, and much more!

“This Museum has a wide range of artifacts in its collection. This is a great opportunity to come and see some of the artifacts in the museum collection that are not often on display,” said Pat Rigey, chair of the Dryden & District Museum Advisory Board.

The Dryden & District Museum is pleased to thank the Dryden Rotary Club for their financial contribution towards the summer exhibit.

The contribution from the Dryden Rotary Charity Foundation will allow for the museum to purchase an additional artifact display case and exhibit pedestals, allowing for more artifacts to be on display to the public.

“Typically, museums are only able to display two-five percent of their permanent collections. Thanks to the Dryden Rotary Club, we will be able to display more artifacts than usual in our exhibits,” said the Dryden & District Museum's Cultural & Tourism co-ordinator Bethany Waite.

Visit the museum on Monday, July 1 from 9 a.m. to noon for a sneak peek at the new exhibit as part of the City of Dryden's Canada Day festivities.

Admission will be free.
