A Kenora man is facing drug-related charges following an ongoing investigation into drug-trafficking there.
On Wednesday around 9:45 a.m., as a result of an ongoing investigation, police arrested a male in the north end of Kenora.
A brief foot chase ensued before the male was taken into custody without incident.
Upon searching the male, police located about three grams of methamphetamine, three grams of marijuana, and other items associated with the drug-trafficking trade.
The male also was found to be carrying a concealed weapon.
The street value of the drugs is estimated to be nearly $1,000.
The 28-year-old male was charged with:
- possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking;
- possession of a Schedule II substance (cannabis marijuana) under 30 grams;
- resisting a peace officer; and
- carrying a concealed weapon.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
