Shortly after 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Kenora OPP officers responded to a report of a deceased male being located along the shoreline of Powder Island on Lake of the Woods.
Members of the Kenora OPP’s Marine and Trails Unit, and the Kenora Forensic Identification Unit, attended the scene yesterday and recovered the body.
The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Keith Ayers of Baudette, Mn.
He was reported missing to the Lake of the Woods Sheriff’s Department in Baudette on Oct. 3 after his fishing party did not return to their resort as scheduled.
Two other men from the incident were found deceased on Oct. 9 and Oct. 11 in U.S. waters of Lake of the Woods.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Saturday at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora.
