The Legion Ladies Auxiliary to Br. #29 met last Wednesday (May 9), with 25 members in attendance.
An application for membership was received and passed for Gabriella McDougall.
Initiation will take place at a future meeting.
Christina McDougall, meanwhile, officially was installed as auxiliary secretary for the current year.
The position of Ways & Means remains vacant. Any member who is interested, or would like further information on this position, is asked to contact auxiliary president Alfreda Easton at 274-9105.
Our membership is falling behind with volunteering to help with preparations for events. We also need more help to prepare and serve at functions.
Please don't be shy. Our ladies appreciate any help we can get and are more than happy to show new recruits the ropes.
If you can help even for a couple of hours, please let Alfreda know.
The auxiliary's next monthly supper—featuring pork cutlets with all the trimmings, plus dessert and coffee/tea—will be held on Friday, May 25 at 5:30 p.m. upstairs at the Legion (doors open at 4:30).
Admission is $16/plate. A 50/50 draw also will be held that evening.
Take-outs are available for pick-up by calling 274-3772 (before 4:30 p.m. if possible).
In other news, Remembrance Day tea tickets soon will be printed and ready for sale.

Meanwhile, plans are in the works for the annual July 1 pancake breakfast (more information to follow).
“Veterans' Night” held on Saturday, May 5 was a huge success, with roughly 70-75 veterans and family members in attendance.
A delicious meal was served, and the music and singing by Diane Maxey's choir was enjoyed by all.
The 50/50 draw won by Maureen Ricard.
The winner of the May birthday draw/gift was Leslie Bell, with birthday cards given to Gloria Bergner and Joanne Gosselin.
