The ground search for Delaine Copenace, conducted by the OPP’s ERT and Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, was suspended today.
On Saturday, members of the Kenora OPP set up two checkpoints in the downtown area asking all motorists and pedestrians if they had any information on the whereabouts of the 16-year-old, who was reported missing Feb. 28.
Over the last two weeks, the OPP thoroughly searched the downtown area and expanded into other areas of the city.
Members of the OPP will continue to canvass residences and establishments within the community.
Police still are requesting the public to come forward with any information pertaining to Copenace’s whereabouts.
These tips will be followed up and thoroughly investigated.
The investigation is continuing under the direction of Det. Insp. Randy Heida of the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch.
If anyone has any information or finds anything out of the ordinary, contact the OPP immediately at 1-807-534-5534.
