Last Thursday around 4 p.m., a Thunder Bay OPP officer was on patrol on Highway 11/17 in Shuniah.
The officer conducted a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act infraction.
While speaking with the driver, the officer determined he had been consuming alcohol.
The driver was arrested and taken to detachment for further tests.
A 29-year-old Fort Frances man subsequently was charged with care or control of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg.
He also was charged with driving while under suspension and speeding.
He is to appear in the court Dec. 5 in Thunder Bay.
