The La Vallee Fire Department is hosting its third annual spaghetti dinner this Saturday (April 13) at the Devlin Hall.
The dinner will be served from 4:30-7 p.m. Tickets are available from any La Vallee firefighter and at the municipal office as well as at the door until sold out.
This always proves to be a great meal plus an evening of socializing and getting to know our fire department volunteers. Be sure to mark this on your calendar!
Emo's annual “Spring Fever Days” are this Friday and Saturday (April 12 and 13).
All of Emo becomes involved in this long-running two days of activities, great sale discounts, draws, raffles and so much more.
The Emo Legion will host its yearly “Crafts Galore” on both days, too.
The Easter Services at Guthrie and Knox United Church are as follows: Maundy Thursday services will be held at Knox United Church in Emo at 7 p.m.; Good Friday Services at Guthrie at 10 a.m.; and Easter Sunday services at Guthrie in Devlin at 9:45 a.m. and in Emo at 11 a.m.
There will be a chess tournament at Crossroads School in May 8 (this is during Education Week). Schools from across the district have been invited to compete.
Volunteers are needed for this event, including arbiters (referees).

Friday, April 26 is a P.A. Day for all schools in the Rainy River District.
A reminder that the Rainy River Valley Agricultural Society will host a spring “Hawaiian” gala Saturday, May 4 at the Emo Arena.
Tickets are $50. Social hour is 5:30 p.m. with dinner being served at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available from all fair board directors.
All monies raised will assist in new bathrooms, kitchen and improvements to the fairgrounds.
Devlin Little League is back in May for all children between the ages of four and 15.

Congratulations to Sarah Rittau for her accomplishment in the first-annual Ironman Cyclone Swim Club competition. Sarah placed “Top Female” in the 15 and older division.
Congratulations to Sandy Beadle who was recognized for 25 years of service at Riverside Hospital.
This award was presented to Sandy last Wednesday at a dinner and recognition of long time employees. Sandy has been employees from 1994 to the present, she also was employed at Riverside from 1986 to 1991.

Jim Belluz recently underwent major back surgery in Thunder Bay.
