Emo Feed planning lots of activities for grand opening

Category:

Emo Feed is celebrating the grand opening of its new building this Thursday to Saturday, with an array of in-store sales and fun activities for all who stop by.

The grand-opening festivities kick off tomorrow at 2 p.m. with a seminar from Masterfeed on horse health, nutrition, and maintenance.

Then on Friday, there will be presentations from Emo Feed's suppliers—starting with “Fencing 101" at 10:30 a.m., followed by a seminar on "Rotational Grazing” slated for 1:30 p.m.

Store owner John Sawatzky couldn't be more thrilled.

“We are excited for the seminars, excited to meet the customers, and excited to talk with them,” he enthused.

A free barbecue lunch also will be available Friday to all who stop by Emo Feed from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Then a free barbecue dinner is planned from 4-6 p.m., which also will feature cake and coffee, as well as activities for kids.

The final day of the grand-opening celebration will feature complimentary doughnuts and coffee from 9-11 a.m.

Then starting at 10 a.m., there will be a “Peter Rabbit” story-telling and giveaways, along with a visit from three little lambs.

For the past month, Emo Feed has been looking after a bunny staff named “Peter Rabbit,” which will be given away to a lucky winner at the story-telling.

There also will be face-painting, ice cream, and other activities for kids.

“We have many great things going on for the family,” Sawatzky noted.

“It will be a busy weekend.”

As well, Emo Feed will be offering sales on a variety of products, such as gardening tools, workwear, barbecue tools, patio sets, and outdoor furniture, during all three days.

The store also is having an “18 Litre Bucket Sale,” in which customers who buy 18-litre buckets can fill it with any other products in the store and get 15 percent off those products.

New to Emo Feed is the option for customers to collect Air Miles.

“They're great points to collect if you're doing any travelling at all,” Sawatzky said.

In related news, Emo Feed recently expanded its gardening selection since teaming up with Ace Country and Garden.

The store's recent upgrade to the new building across the street from its former location is another expansion that Sawatzky is excited about.

“The new building gives us a lot more space," he remarked. ”It allows us to display more of our products and it helps us to diversify a little bit, as well.

“We're really happy with our new facility.”

Many of Emo Feed's customers, meanwhile, are just as happy to have a bigger and better space to shop in.

“We've had some really great responses from people who use to always come in the store,” Sawatzky said.

"They've been really thrilled to see the new building.

“A lot of people have said, 'Wow, it's great to have a place like this now in Emo,'” he added.

Moving forward, Sawatzky plans to continue to provide district residents with a family-friendly farm store that features top-notch customer service.

“Come check us out here at Emo Feed,” he enthused.

“I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by what we all have.”
