The Sioux Lookout OPP conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Fourth Avenue there.
The driver of the vehicle was a 39-year-old male from Sioux Lookout.
He was found to be impaired from the consumption of alcohol and arrested.
The driver was taken to the Sioux Lookout OPP detachment, where he provided samples of his breath, which revealed he had more than three times the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.
There were two children in the vehicle under the age of 10 at the time of the traffic stop.
The male also was charged with two counts of driving while disqualified and two counts of failing to ensure a child was properly secured.
The vehicle he was operating was impounded for 45 days as a result of him driving while disqualified.
The male, who was released, is to appear in court March 20.
Police are asking anyone who sees a suspected impaired driver to call 9-1-1 and report it to police.
