Country rewind this Saturday

The Emo Legion Branch 99 will be hosting “Country Rewind.” It's an evening of performed singing and playing instruments.

This Karaoke style event has several performers from the district and also some travelling from Atikokan to perform.

This enjoyable evening takes place Saturday, Feb. 8 beginning at 7 p.m. The cost is $5.00 to attend. Everyone welcome for an evening of dancing, and a trip down memory lane, involving some of the greatest country songs ever heard.

Trudy Badiuk was the lucky winner of the Emo Legion Super Bowl party she took home $250.00. Hurray Trudy!

The Devlin and Emo Churches would like to thank everyone who bought tickets and supported their Twelve Days of Christmas cash draw.

The winners were as follows:

Happy 50th birthday to Carla Marschalk. She turned 50 on Feb. 1. Our community wishes you many more birthdays and happiness!

The Township of LaVallee and our community would like to thank Ken McCormick for his years of service with the Municipality and we all wish him well with his future endeavours.

The Township of LaVallee and our community would like to welcome Neil MacDonald who has been hired as an Equipment Operator. Also, the Municipality of LaVallee and our community would like to welcome back Harold Kellar, who has been hired as the part-time Landfill Attendant.

Sincere sympathy to Mickey McKinnon and families in the passing of Sandra McConnell, who is Mickey's sister. Your community is thinking of you at this sad time.

An eight year old girl went to the office with her father on “Take Your Kid To Work Day”

As they were walking around his work the young girl started crying and getting very cranky.

Her father asked her what was wrong.

As the staff gathered round she sobbed loudly:

“Daddy, where are all the clowns that you said you work with?”
