Unifor Local 324-12 in Dryden, as well as Unifor Local 324-16 in Sioux Lookout, voted 100 percent in favour of new three-year contracts with Community Living Dryden-Sioux Lookout in voting held this week.
Community Living Dryden-Sioux Lookout provides all levels of support for individuals with developmental disabilities living in Dryden and Sioux Lookout.
“We have once again secured solid contracts with Community Living Dryden-Sioux Lookout while maintaining a respectful working relationship with management,” said Unifor national rep Stephen Boon.
As indicated by the unanimous ratification votes, both Unifor locals were very pleased with the solid monetary gains and key language improvements achieved in these agreements.
In addition to one percent, 1.9 percent, and two percent annual wage increases, the new deals increase pension contributions by more than 33 percent.
They also provide a 36-hour annual increase in part-time sick pay, a $10 increase in daily meal allowance, increased vacation entitlements, and expanded seniority rights.
Top rates of pay will reach $29.35 by the final year of the deals, which run from Sept. 2, 2016- Sept. 1, 2019.
