Cocaine bust made

A 24-year-old Kenora man is facing charges following an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking there.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Friday, police tried to arrest a male in the downtown area of Kenora.

A brief foot chase ensued before the male was arrested by police.

A search of the male resulted in the seizure of around eight grams of cocaine and an amount of Canadian currency.

The drugs have a street value of $800.

Police charged the man with possession for the purpose of trafficking, failure to comply with an undertaking, and resisting a peace officer.

He also was charged with possession of property obtained by crime.

The male was held in custody pending a bail hearing yesterday.
