Christmas parade needs organizers

As we are entering into the holiday season soon, the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce office has been receiving numerous calls inquiring about the Christmas parade.

To clarify any confusion, we would like to let the community know that we, the Chamber, have not been the organizers of the Christmas parade.

In recent years, the parade was being organized by a staff member of a Fort Frances downtown business, who no longer is available.

Last year, our former Chamber manager assisted the organizer but in a volunteer capacity only, which may have led to the present assumption.

The Fort Frances Chamber currently is working hard on positive changes to our mandate for contribution to our community, and are unable to dedicate our resources to this event.

For many years, the Christmas parade has been a much-loved fixture of the holiday season, delighting children and adults alike.

The Chamber would like to encourage a local business, service group, or organization with the vision, energy, and capacity to step up and take over organizing the parade.
