Shortly before 11 p.m. on June 2, a member of the Rainy River District OPP observed a traffic-related infraction involving an all-terrain vehicle in the area of O'Brien Street and Mercury Avenue in Atikokan.
The officer stopped the vehicle in question and conducted an investigation.
As a result of this investigation,a 20-year-old Atikokan man was charged with refusing to provide a breath sample, impaired operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to comply with probation.
He also was charged with driving while disqualified.
He will appear in court in Atikokan on Aug. 9.
Meanwhile, a 42-year-old Atikokan woman, who is the registered owner of the ATV, was charged with permitting an unlicensed person to drive a motor vehicle.
She is scheduled to appear in court on July 27.
The public is urged to report impaired driving by calling 9-1-1 in emergency situations.
