One new fire was confirmed by yesterday afternoon in the region.
Dryden Fire #2, located near Dinorwic Lake, was listed as “being held” at 0.3 hectares at last report.
Meanwhile, two new fires were confirmed late Monday.
Kenora Fire #4 is listed as “under control” at 3.7 ha while Kenora Fire #5, located near Wabaseemoong First Nation, also is reported as “under control” at 0.1 ha.
Kenora Fire #3 has been declared “out.”
The fire hazard is “moderate” to “high” across the region.
People are reminded that they are responsible for safe outdoor fire management and must follow guidelines set out in the Forest Fires Prevention Act of Ontario, including no day burning of brush or grass fires.
Campfires are to be tended at all times and put out before leaving.
