No new fires were confirmed in the Northwest Region by yesterday afternoon.
But four new lightning-caused blazes, including Fort Frances Fire #14 located near Tibbetts Lake, were confirmed as of Tuesday afternoon.
The fire is now “out” at 0.1 hectares in size.
Two of the fires were in Nipigon District, with the other one occurring in Thunder Bay District about 2.5 km south of Sunshine.
These three fires also are now “out.”
The forest fire hazard is forecast to be “low” in the western and northwestern sectors of the region.
But it remains “moderate” to “high” in the eastern and northeastern sectors.
