The Emo food bank is over-budget in spending and these are some ways it plans to save on resources: no longer providing frozen beef, pre-packing boxes according to supplies aiming at having three days’ worth, and offering very basic and healthy foods to help those who really need it.
This summer, a student will be running the food bank. But if a local person to co-ordinate it isn’t found by the fall, it will be closed.
Anyone interested in co-ordinating the food bank is asked to call Lincoln Dunn (482-1548) or Victor Gustafson (274-5475) for more info.
Monetary donations are preferred—made out to the Emo Food Bank and Thrift Shop and sent to P.O. Box 38, Emo, Ont., P0W 1E0.
The Emo food bank serves the area west to Stratton, north to Nestor Falls, and east to Devlin. Rainy River and Fort Frances have their own food banks.
