The Fort Frances Muskie Girls will be holding a 20th anniversary alumni game at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2 at the Ice for Kids Arena. Past Muskie Girls Hockey players, coached by former Muskie Girls Hockey coaching staff, will take on the current lineup. Admission is free but donations will be collected, with proceeds going to CMHA.

The Fort Frances Lakers will face off against the Thief River Falls Norskies on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice for Kids Arena. Their next game will be against the Dryden Ice Dogs on Friday, Jan 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice for Kids Arena. Admission at both games is $12 for adults; $8 for students; $5 for children 12 and under; free for children under five.

The Fort Frances Museum and Cultural Centre will be opening its new exhibit “Canada: Day 1,” which tells the story of immigration to Canada, in early January. The museum will be open Saturday, Jan. 4, from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., then Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The Fort Frances Fire Brigade will be collecting Christmas trees on Sunday, Jan. 11 at 1:00 p.m. Trees must be placed curbside and unobstructed no later than noon on Jan. 11, and no pickup will occur down back alleys. Donations for the Fire Brigade can be placed inside mailboxes.

The Fort Frances Muskie Boys will take on the Beaver Brae Broncos at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at the Ice for Kids Arena. Tickets are $8 for adults; $2 for students; and free for children under 12. Season tickets apply.

The Fort Frances Muskie Girls will take on the Beaver Brae Broncos at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at the 52 Canadians Arena. Tickets are $7 for adults; $2 for youth ages 13-18; and free for children 12 and under.

Kids & Company will present “Rythmo 2” on Monday, Jan. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Townshend Theatre. Tickets cost $10.50 in advance (available online at www.kidsandco.ca) and $12 at the door (kids three and under are free). For more info, call Tara at 271-0320.

The Rainy River District Right Relations Circle meets at 10:30 a.m. on the third Wednesday of every month at the Fort Frances Museum and Cultural Centre. New participants are always welcome. For more info, email rightrelationsrrd@gmail.com
