“Country Meet City,” this year’s musical revue presented by Fort Frances High School, runs again today and tomorrow (Nov. 17-18) at 7 p.m. at the Townshend Theatre (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) Tickets cost $10 for adults and $8 for students/seniors, which are available at Northwoods Gallery & Gifts and the door.
The Fort Frances Lakers will host the Thunder Bay North Stars in SIJHL action today (Nov. 17) at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena. Admission is $12 for adults, $8 for students aged 13-17, and $5 for kids aged five-12 (those under five are admitted free). Fans also are asked to wear purple in support of the “Shine the Light” campaign against woman abuse.
“Rainy River Ag Days” will be held Saturday, Nov. 18 from 9 a.m.-3:15 p.m. at the Emo Legion. A spaghetti dinner fundraiser, hosted by the Fort Frances Canadians Bantam ‘AA’ hockey team, will be held Saturday, Nov. 18 from 4-7 p.m. upstairs at the Memorial Sports Centre. The Fort Frances Choraliers’ Christmas cantata, this year entitled “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” is set for Sunday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. at the Townshend Theatre. An encore performance is slated for Sunday, Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in International Falls while Rainycrest residents will be given a free concert on Dec. 17 at 1:30 p.m.
