The Fort Frances Lakers will face off against the Thief River Falls Norskies on Friday, Dec. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Ice for Kids Arena. Admission is $12 for adults; $8 for students; $5 for children 12 and under; free for children under five.

The Muskie girls' hockey team will hold their annual tea and bake sale on Saturday, Dec. 21 from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Legion in Fort Frances. Sandwiches, desserts, bake table and penny table. Admission $5.

A “Living Nativity" will take place at the Kooistra Family Barn (956 Emo Road, Emo) on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. and again at 6:30 p.m. Bring family and friends to celebrate the "Gift of Christmas” and the greatest story ever told. Hot chocolate, live music, real stable animals. The barn door will be open so bring a coat to stay warm!

The Times' office will be closed from Monday, Dec. 23 through Friday, Dec. 27 for the Christmas holidays. We will re-open Monday, Dec. 30, stay open Tuesday, Dec. 31, and then be closed again on New Year's Day (Wednesday, Jan. 1). The Times will then reopen and resume business as usual on Thursday, Jan 2. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The annual community Christmas dinner will be held Wednesday, Dec. 25 from noon-2 p.m. at Knox United Church in Fort Frances. Donations can be dropped off at Community Living. Want to volunteer? Please call (807) 275-5499. Admission is free and everyone is welcome!

Christmas dinner take out or delivery will be available on Wednesday, Dec. 25 at 1 p.m. at Emo Knox United Church. If you would like a Christmas meal, at no cost, contact Joyce Meyers (482-2086) or Janet Loney (482-2586). Anyone willing to help prepare supper or deliver meals is welcome.

“Step Down” will play at the Legion on New Year's Eve (Tuesday, Dec. 31) from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Fun, prizes, dancing, and midnight lunch. Cover charge is $10 for everyone (members and non-members).

The Voyageur Lions' “Polar Plunge” will take place on New Year's Day (Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020) at 1 p.m. at La Place Rendez-Vous' dock. For more information or to obtain pledge sheets, contact Travis Michl at 276-4704.

The 908 Rainy Lake Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron is looking for new members. They meet Monday nights now through June 11, 2020 in the arena auditorium. Ages 12-18 welcome.
