The annual Emo Walleye Classic runs today and tomorrow (May 26-27), with the weigh-ins beginning at 3:30 p.m. each day at the Emo-La Vallee Arena. See page C1 of Wednesday’s Times for a complete schedule of events.
The Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary will hold a special monthly supper featuring Chicken Oscar, in celebration of its 90th year, today (May 26) at 5:30 p.m. upstairs at the Legion (doors open at 4:30). Admission is $15/person, with take-outs available by calling 274-3772. A 50/50 draw also will be held.

The Fort Frances Fire & Rescue Service will hold a spring open house on Saturday, May 27 from 8 a.m.-noon at the Fort Frances Fire Hall. There will be fire safety and emergency preparedness hand-outs, giveaways for kids, and draws for fire safety T-shirts.
The “Friends of the Library” will hold a book sale Saturday, May 27 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Proceeds to benefit the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre.

The 12th-annual “Purina Walk for Dog Guides,” organized by the Fort Frances Voyageur Lions Club, is set for Sunday, May 28 starting at 1 p.m. at the Sorting Gap Marina. Registration gets underway at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome to participate.
