Dear editor:
The Festival Committee wishes to extend a sincere apology to all those affected by the error in programming for the “highlights concert” on Saturday evening.
For some unfortunate reason, a time to hand out awards to people who were not actually performing at the concert was omitted. The members who were on hand did not realize there were several children present expecting to collect their well-earned awards.
Hopefully, these children, their parents, and the community will realize that the size of the committee compared to the size of the task of organizing and running the two-week festival, and the final concert, makes the committee feel overwhelmed at times.
This is how errors occur.
The Festival Committee is always hoping for a few more people to step forward and offer their services to help organize this worthwhile event.
