District residents came through once again for the Canadian Blood Services donor clinic at Fort High yesterday and Wednesday.
“We had an amazing turnout,” CBS community development co-ordinator Harvey Heather said this morning.
“We had 412 donors over the two days, 345 units, which is about 43 more [units] than we expected,” he noted.
“Each unit can help up to three people, so this could benefit up to 1,035 patients, which is just awesome.”
Heather thanked the La Verendrye Hospital Auxiliary volunteers for helping out once again, as well as Fort High students and staff for their support, and the Fort Frances Times and B93•FM for promoting the blood drive.
“The biggest thank you, of course, should go to all the wonderful donors who came out over the two days to help us help as many patients as we could,” Heather added.
