October is Breast Cancer Month and the Rainy River District Breast Health Network has teamed up with MOSS Yoga to offer an enlightening evening for women of all ages to learn about the benefits of yoga for their body, mind, and spirit.
It is taking place next Tuesday (Oct. 21) at 7 p.m. at the New Beginnings Fellowship Church.
The evening will begin with an interactive presentation and demonstration of yoga techniques by Jennifer L’Hirondelle, who is a trained yoga instructor and owner of MOSS Yoga.
There also will be giveaways, door prizes, and refreshments.
Tickets cost $5 each, which are available at Pharmasave, Shoppers Drug Mart, and MOSS Yoga or by calling 274-4817.
“It’s not a yoga class,” stressed Teresa Hazel, who chairs the Breast Health Network. “Those who come out will learn about yoga and how it can assist them in their daily lives.
“We believe yoga is a prevention strategy and also a support activity for those who may be dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment,” she added.
