‘Life Chain’ Sunday

The annual “Life Chain”—an hour of silent witness and prayer to show respect for the sanctity of life—will be held this Sunday (Oct. 5) from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on the north side of Scott Street.

Signs will be available at St. Mary’s Church starting at 2:15 p.m. that day.

The “Life Chain” is a time for prayerful self-analysis, repentance, and serious commitment to helping end abortion in Canada. People of all ages and religious affiliations are welcome.

Why should Christians join the “Life Chain?” Here’s seven reasons:

•To join a national prayer chain that seeks God’s grace, mercy, and forgiveness for our nation.

•To better understand the impact legalized abortion is having on our country and why the church must unite to end it (the first and foremost purpose of the “Life Chain” is to minister to its own participants).

•To move the church, under pastoral leadership, from the pews to the marketplace, where Christ often taught. For much too long, the church has escaped to its sanctuaries and relied on silence or rhetoric, instead of on committed hearts in action.

•To minister to the public, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

If the church accepts the ministry God intends for His followers, God will ready His church to witness truth (to the public) with conviction and compassion.

•To honour the many millions of pre-born citizens who have perished (they often have, if not usually, endured mutilation within sight or earshot of church bells and church campuses).

•To help build a bold and committed army of Christians who truly want to be “pro-life” in both deed and word (Christians must engage the battle until the curse of legalized abortion is vanquished across Canada, America, and beyond).

•To provide God a witness to anoint and use to save lives and change hearts in each local area (God wants to work through willing vessels who will defend and honour His little ones with humility and boldness).
