Sign up now for the “Healthy You” weight management program being offered by clinical dietitian Rooksana Randeree this fall at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances and the Emo and Rainy River Health Centres via telehealth.
The “Healthy You” program is a group weight management approach that focuses on lifestyle changes that may help you reach and maintain a healthier body weight or shape.
You will learn about how nutrition, physical activity, your behaviours, and the environment affect your body size.
You will learn how to use this information in your day-to-day life by working with other group members doing practical activities and learning from each other’s experiences.
The aim of this program is to help you make permanent lifestyle changes.
This is not a program that focuses on “dieting.” You set your own goals and make your own plan to work towards them.
Different topics will be discussed, including orientation to a healthy you and nutrition basics; carbohydrate, fibre and fluid, protein and fat; meal planning, and mindful and emotional eating; and healthy waist management.
To register for the 90-minute classes, call 274-4817.
The “Healthy You” session will run from 4:30-6 p.m. on Sept. 19, Sept. 26, Oct. 10, Oct. 17, and Oct. 23.
“Healthy You” sessions will be held at the telehealth studio at the Emo and Rainy River Health Centres.
Space is limited.
