A&W promises cage-free eggs, funds research to find housing alternatives

TORONTO — A&W says it is contributing to research to find better cage-free housing alternatives for hens.

The company says it is granting $100,000 to Farm & Food Care Canada, a coalition of farmers and businesses, to study ways of sourcing eggs from hens housed in improved free-run and free-range systems.

Dos Equis says ‘adios’ to ‘Most Interesting Man’ pitchman

Mexican beer brand Dos Equis is letting go of its grey-haired spokesman, 77-year-old Jonathan Goldsmith, and replacing him with another actor. Goldsmith, known in the ads as the “Most Interesting Man in the World,” has been appearing in Dos Equis commercials for about nine years.

Lack of confidence keeping women from investing; instead they hold onto cash

OTTAWA A new report by investment firm BlackRock suggests most women lack confidence when it comes to making decisions on investing.

“We are seeing more and more women categorize themselves as savers versus investors and they’re sitting on the sidelines in cash,” says Karrie Van Belle, managing director at BlackRock Canada.
