Roast beef supper slated


A roast beef supper is planned for Sunday, June 10 from 5-7 p.m. at the Dance Hall.

The menu will include Yorkshire pudding, all the fixings, and homemade dainties for dessert.

Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for kids aged six-12 (those five and under eat free), with proceeds to help keep the Dance community history alive.

The annual T.O.P.S. salad supper held Monday night once again was a huge success, feeding more than 160 people.

Betty Herman won the door prize of a beautiful hanging basket while the kids’ door prize was won by Tayla Trimble (a digital camcorder).

The grocery hamper was won by Debbie Halverson and the 50/50 draw was won by Larrayne Muloin ($197).

Several local residents will be graduating from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay this week, including Kelsey McLean and Emily Watson from the Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Emily will be graduating with First Class Standing, and both will write their provincial exam June 6 to become Registered Nurses.

Sympathy is extended to Nancy Cain and her family on the passing of her father on Saturday (May 26).

Congrats to Paul Allen and Jason Rostek on winning the 2012 Emo Walleye Classic on Saturday.

An honourable mention to Ralph Galusha and Bill Godin on their 10th-place finish.

The Emo Legion’s 50/50 draw was won by Shari Godin, who took home $745.

Vivian Callaghan pocketed $74,50 for selling the winning ticket.
