The Christian Parents’ Association is holding its annual fall harvest supper and silent auction this Friday (Nov. 14) at the Christian Reformed Church in Emo. Supper will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by guest speaker Pastor Archie Dyck at 7 p.m.
A free-will offering will be taken up.
Come for an evening of fellowship, inspiration and fun. Donations to the silent auction would be appreciated. Items can be given to Diane Veldhuisen, Juliana Clink or Nancy Gobeil.or they can be brought to the church on November 14th.
Proceed from the evening will go to the SCAP building fund and unless designated to the CPA general fund. Everyone is welcome. Please come out to support this worthwhile event.

The men’s monthly breakfast meeting will be held this Saturday (Nov. 15) at 8 a.m. at the Emo Legion. The $10 buffet meal will feature guest speaker Pastor Archie Dyck, who was born and raised in southern Manitoba.
Having served as pastor for many years in Dryden, California, and now Winnipeg, he is passionate about—and communicates with great excellence—the truth of the Bible and its relevance for us today.
All men are welcome, and please bring along a friend.

The Borderland Snowmobile Club would like to announce a snowmobile training course will be held Nov. 22 in Emo and Nov. 29 in Fort Frances. The cost to attend is $30, which is due at registration.

Space is limited, so sign up early. Hotdogs and pop will be available for sale at the session in Emo.

The Emo “Best Start” Hub is hosting a “Fiesta Party” at the Emo Legion this Friday (Nov. 14) from 5-9 p.m. The cost will be $3 for adults and $2 for children, with those two and under being admitted free (a reminder that children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult).
Come for a fun evening of fiesta crafts, Mexican food (tacos and nachos), dancing, and karaoke. There will also be a penny table, with music being provided by Yowza.
Everyone is welcome to attend.

Don’t forge Knox United Church in Emo is presenting “Sounds of Holiday Cheer” this Saturday (Nov. 15) beginning at 7 p.m. The entertainment for the evening will feature the “Borderland Choral Bells” and the “Fort Harmonies,” conducted by Diane Maxey.
There also will be a bake sale and a display of holiday dolls.
Tickets for this event cost $10 for adults and $2 for youths aged 14 and under, which can be purchased at the Thread Shed, Cloverleaf, and Meyers Clothing, as well as from Joyce Meyers and Rev. Frances Flook.
Church members also will be taking orders for meat pies.

The Borderland Snowmobile Club, which includes members from Emo, Rainy River, Nestor Falls, Fort Frances, and Mine Centre, will be holding a general meeting this coming Monday (Nov. 17) at 7:30 p.m. at John Gavel Custom Manufacturing just west of Emo.
Find out what is planned for the coming season, and sign up to volunteer or assist in whatever way you can. It’s your club—find out what’s happening at the next general meeting.
The club also would like you to know all work done on the snowmobile trails is organized and performed by volunteers. They have very generous and helpful volunteers coming out from Manitoba to help open up some of our trails near Nestor Falls.
It also can sign off on community service hours for high school students.

The men’s basketball league that meets Thursday evenings in the Donald Young School gym is on hold for two weeks. Play will resume Nov. 27 from 8-9:30 p.m.
The group would like to see more men attend, and are inviting anyone who would like to get some exercise to come out for the next session.

Knox United Church in Fort Frances will be hosting a picture presentation by Rev. Ren Amell, who accompanied a group of young adults on a three-week partnership visit to Zambia, tonight (Nov. 12) at 7 p.m.
