Devlin anglers competing

The 18th-annual Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship is set to go this Thursday to Saturday (July 26-28).

As always, several Devlin/La Vallee anglers will be competing.

The community sends you all the best of luck and much success in bringing in the greatest weight.

As always, there are several events to attend in conjunction with the FFCBC, including the boat parade today (July 25) and “Quest for the Best” tomorrow night.

A reminder that a fun golf tournament, hosted by the Emo Legion, will take place this Saturday (July 28).

The cost is $50 per person, with teams of four playing a best ball format.

A prime rib dinner will follow.

The Emo Legion’s next 50/50 draw takes place this Friday (July 27).

Be sure to get your tickets from one of the many sellers, or at the Emo Legion itself.

Last Wednesday’s cribbage winner at the Emo Legion was Donna Sheppard.

The low score went to Irwin Morphet, who also won the draw.

I had the great opportunity of attending a garden party on Saturday, along with several members from my workplace (Community Living Fort Frances and District).

The party was hosted by Wanda Johnson and her family, and featured delicious food, punch, and all the trimmings.

Croquet also was enjoyed by the sports-minded (not me).

Their beautiful lawn was decorated to fit the theme, and several people from the district attended.

Thanks to Wanda and her family for making last Saturday a delight. Your hard work is appreciated.
