Pastor Conrad Dueck and his family are extremely grateful for all the donations they’ve received from area churches, businesses, and individuals after losing their home to a fire last Tuesday (Jan. 27).
“We have been awed, humbled, amazed, stunned, overjoyed, brought to tears, laughed, smiled, and wondered at the amazing generosity of the truly great people here in Emo and across the entire district,” Pastor Dueck noted in an e-mail.
The parsonage in Emo was completely refurnished for them within 24 hours. “It has been overwhelming at times to have over a 100 people ask you how they could help!” he said.
Donations literally have poured in from every corner of the district. The entire family once again would like to thank everyone who contributed so much in such a short period of time.
A benefit tea for the Duecks will be held next Sunday (Feb. 15) from 1-3 p.m. at the Emo Legion. A light lunch will be served for $10.
Come out and show your support for Pastor Dueck and his family.

Despite the blustery weather, more than 165 people turned out for the fish fry at the Emo Legion on Saturday evening. As well, 65 take-out orders were delivered to those who could not attend.
The food was fantastic and everyone definitely enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Thanks to everyone who came out to support the Legion.
