Auxiliary tea deemed a success

The Emo & District Hospital Auxiliary would like to thank everyone who donated, worked, or helped in any way to make their fall tea and bazaar a great success.

They were able to raise just over $3,000.

The winners of the various draws included Julia Dykstra (children’s), June Winik (bird feeder), Janet Loney (lawn chairs), Ruth Stewart (lap quilt), Maureen Jack (embroidered tea towels), Bernice Campbell (hooded sweatshirt), Dianne Vandenbrand (magazine rack), and Bev Gustafson (quilted table runner).

The door prize was won by Laura Pogmore (Zimmerman).

The auxiliary is so thankful for all the wonderful support they receive from the businesses, groups, and individuals across the district, all of which helps the group support health care in the community.

The 10th-anniversary gathering of the Men’s Breakfast group was well-attended by men from across the district.

Everyone was there to share in another wonderful meal provided by the kitchen crew of the Emo Legion, as well as to listen to the inspirational message from guest speaker Tim Reimer of Morweena, Man.

His work as an educator has led to his current position as a teaching principal in a K-12 school of 125 students. Reimer also serves part-time as a consultant for Christian Schools International in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario.

His message of “living in harmony and balance” with others was well-received by those representing various churches from across Rainy River District.

Music for the morning was provided by Sonny Ferris and his brother-in-law, Allan Savage.

The men’s breakfast group meets on the third Saturday of the month at 8 a.m. at the Emo Legion.

Be sure to mark it on your calendar for next month.
