With the official deadline to nominate a deserving individual or business for the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce’s annual business awards having come and gone yesterday, organizers are looking for people to act fast and submit more nominees in three award categories.
Chamber manager Dawn Booth said this morning she received a total of 72 nominations listing 60 different nominees in 11 different categories. However, she would like to have at least three nominees in each category, and a few of those have come up short.
As such, she’ll still welcome nominations for the Accessibility Award, Safety Award (Business or Individual), and the Tony Beyak Memorial Volunteer of the Year Award until the end of the day tomorrow.
Nomination forms are available throughout the district, online at www.fortfranceschamber.com, or by calling the Chamber office at 274-5773.
Any business in Rainy River District can be nominated, and businesses do not have to belong to the Chamber to be eligible to win.
A list of award nominees will be confirmed and released sometime next week. In the meantime, everyone nominated will be receiving a letter of congratulations and notified as to whether the Chamber will be requesting additional information from them.
The 13th-annual Bell Business Awards banquet is set for Saturday, Nov. 8 at La Place Rendez-Vous.
