Are you an enterprising woman? Do you know an enterprising woman?
There is no better to way to be recognized than through the PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise.
The nomination form is now available at www.enterprisingwomen.ca, with the deadline for nominations being Sept. 14.
According to the website, an enterprising woman “can dream but she realizes that she must do more than dream to achieve her goals, she must act.”
“An enterprising woman works hard every day to bring her dreams to fruition, but also to support her family and community,” it adds.
Nomination categories include new business, established business (in business three years or more), business with two-four employees (not inclusive of owner), and business with five-plus employees (not inclusive of owner).
Other categories are young entrepreneur (up to age 34), aboriginal entrepreneur (on-reserve and off-reserve), Francophone entrepreneur, “green” entrepreneur, and “social” entrepreneur.
Questions you must fill out on the nomination form include:
- Why do you think this woman is an enterprising woman?;
- How this woman works to make her community a better place to live; and
- How their business and networks impact the economy of Northern Ontario.
All nominees should be available the week of Oct. 4 as winners will be interviewed and featured in a short video.
Those selected as enterprising women will be honoured at a special awards gala Nov. 15 in Thunder Bay.
