Rainy River District Victim Services Program is a hosting a free BBQ in front of their office (334 Scott Street) on Friday, May 31, from noon-2 p.m. in conjunction with National Victims and Survivors of Crime Week. They will have several service providers on site to provide assistance and answer questions on how their organizations can be of assistance to victims and survivors of crime.
The Emo Walleye Classic will run today through Saturday, starting with the angler parade today at 5:30 p.m. Flights then leave at 8 and 8:30 a.m. both Friday and Saturday with the weigh-ins beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Emo/La Vallee Arena. Elvis tribute artist Daylin James will be rockin' and rollin' at the Rainy Lake Square this evening starting at 6 p.m. Free concert. Bring a lawn chair.
“Footloose The Musical” will be performed tonight, Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11 on the stage at the Townshend Theatre. The Fort High production will run from 7:30-10 p.m. each evening. Adults $10, students $8. Tickets available at Northwoods Gallery & Gifts or at the door.
The “Woodland Art Show” open house will take place from noon-8 p.m. on Friday, May 3 at the Fine Line Art Gallery (529 Mowat Ave.). An open house in memory of Terril Pentney also will be held in conjunction with it.
