The Fort Frances Museum and Cultural Centre will be opening its new exhibit “Canada: Day 1,” which tells the story of immigration to Canada, in early January. The museum will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The Fort Frances Lakers will face off against the Thief River Falls Norskies on Friday, Dec. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Ice for Kids Arena. Admission is $12 for adults; $8 for students; $5 for children 12 and under; free for children under five.

“A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens will be the subject of a dramatic reading and holiday celebration on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Emo Knox United Church (3 Roy St.). Musical interludes by the Knox Choir and refreshments and baking at intermission (included with admission). Tickets cost $15/adults, $10/students.

The Friends of the Fort Frances Museum will hold its eighth-annual wine-and-cheese fundraiser, this year tying into the new Prohibition exhibit, today (Thursday, Nov. 7) from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the museum. It also will feature “giggle water,” hors d'oeuvres, live music, auctions, and games.

“Trunk or Treat 2019” will take place this evening (Oct. 31)from 5-7 p.m. at the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre parking lot.
