DESCRIPTION
Weechi-it-te-win Family Services is currently seeking a Developmental
Support Services Manager. The Developmental Support Services Manager
is responsible for ensuring operational guidance, supervision and quality
assurance to all developmental and rehabilitative services offered by
Weechi-it-te-win. The Developmental Support Services Manager is
responsible for implementation and administration of a bi-cultural approach
to developmental and rehabilitative services offered by Weechi-it-te-win.
RESPONSIBILITY
The Developmental Support Services Manager will report to the Director of
Nanaandawewenin.
DUTIES
• Develops culturally safe, trauma informed programs within the WFS
Developmental Support Services Unit;
• Develops policy and procedures for specific programs within the
overarching spectrum of Developmental and Rehabilitative Services
delivered by WFS;
• Develops and occasionally amends case management processes and
corresponding forms for each program within the WFS Developmental
Support Services Unit;
• Develops, reviews, and occasionally amends Job Descriptions for program
with the WFS Developmental Support Services Unit.;
• Develops service contracts with fee for service professionals and cultural
knowledge keepers for the provision of developmental and rehabilitation
services;
• Oversees the application, administration and reporting process for First
Nation schools and day cares to access additional funding for children in
need of extra support;
• Seeks out funding opportunities and writes proposal for additional
funding for WFS Developmental Support Services;
• Provides operational guidance and staff supervision
• Provides Quality Assurance
• Provides Community Liaison & Public Relations
• Provides Service Administration
QUALIFICATIONS
• An understanding and appreciation of Anishinaabe cultural beliefs,
values, norms, ceremony, teachings and a commitment to continued
cultural learning process;
• A Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited
University; or a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with
two consecutive years experience in the management of child or youth
services;
• Knowledge of current trauma informed best practices for early
intervention, developmental therapy, occupational therapy, and family
respite services;
• Registration within an accredited professional organization;
• Working knowledge of Ontario regulations within the following Acts:
Child, Youth and Family Services Act 2017, Personal Health Information
Protection Act, and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act;
• Ability to prepare narrative and statistical reports;
• Experience in preparing funding proposals and corresponding reports;
• Knowledge of electronic case management systems;
• Knowledge and experience in public relations and public speaking;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are a necessity;
• Ability to speak Ojibwe is a definite asset;
• Must possess valid Ontario Driver’s License; and be able to submit a

The Seine River Community Care Supervisor is a full time permanent
position. The Community Care Supervisor is responsible for acting
as a primary liaison between Weechi-it-te-win Family Services and
the First Nation. The Community Care Program team are managed
and delivered in accordance with the mandated agency, provincial
guidelines and customs/practices of Seine River First Nation. The

 Community Care Program staff;

 this includes progressive discipline to staff for infractions related to

• Identifies training needs, and supervises and conducts the
orientation and training-on-the-job of all program staff to ensure
 effective performance of their respective duties and assignments;
• Monitors overall compliance with the terms and conditions of the
 service agreement between WFS and Seine River First Nation;
• Develops case management systems characterized by a teamwork
 approach and structured coordination processes that meets the
 expectations of Seine River First Nation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Post Secondary Education in Social Work and/or Human
Resources, or of similar study, with two (2) years experience as a
supervisor or Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalent, with Five (5) years
experience in a supervisor position and experience in the Field of
Child Family Services;
• Must have a good understanding of the Seine River First Nation
Government structure and operational Structure and Child and
Family Services Act;
• Must have a good understanding and respect for the Seine River
First Nation’s culture, traditions, practices and life styles;

and temperature transmitters as well as PID and tuning controls are
areas considered in the selection process. Excellent troubleshooting and
problem solving skills are required. Strong organizational, interpersonal
and communication skills are a must to effectively participate in a team
environment. Strong working knowledge of software applications such as
Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word are required.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Area Team Leader(s), Spareboard
Labourers will be required to work safely while performing housekeeping
duties, operating mobile equipment, and various other duties as assigned.
You will also be required to work inside and outside and be required to
work with all operations personnel and other trades people to promote a
team environment. This is an entry level position with a variable schedule
and shift based on being “on-call.”
Candidates must have a minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
Preference will be given to candidates with industrial/OSB experience.
Courses in safety training may be considered in the recruitment process.

The United Native Friendship Centre is seeking a motivated and wellorganized individual for the position of Cultural Resource Worker.
· Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture and history,
with particular emphasis on family violence, child welfare, the impacts
of trauma, Indigenous youth engagement and community outreach;
· Knowledge and experience working with urban Indigenous children,
youth and families in a healing and reconciliation capacity;
· Minimum of seven years of demonstrated and related work
experience within an Indigenous organization or community;
· Exceptional knowledge of Indigenous historical and
contemporary issues;
· Post-secondary education in Indigenous studies and/or combination
of an equivalent and relevant education;
· Past experience in annual, quarterly and monthly statistical reporting;
· Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills;
· Fluency in the Ojibway language is an asset;
· Satisfactory criminal record check.
