Ge-Da-Gi-Binez Youth Centre is an Aboriginal-specifi c secure custody facility located in Fort Frances, Ontario. This twelve (12) bed facility is designed to provide rehabilitative programming for male youth who are 12 -17 years of age.
YOUTH SERVICES WORKER
(4) Casual/On-call Positions
Applicants must possess a desire to work with troubled youth. Post Secondary Education related to Youth Justice Worker, Child & Youth Worker, or Social Work would be an asset; OR Equivalent combination of education, work and life experiences will be considered. Full on-site training will be provided.
Who is encouraged to apply? Individuals with the above mentioned requirements and who are seriously interested in working on a casual or part-time basis. Encouragement is also given to individuals who are currently on a part-time or casual call list of a similar agency or facility.

Summary of Position:
The Gizhewaadiziwin Health Access Centre is currently accepting
applications for a full time Medical Receptionist. The Medical
Receptionist reports to the HR/Office Manager. The Medical
Receptionist is the primary point of contact for patients, clients,
and visitors to the Gizhewaadiziwin Health Access Centre and will
be responsible for scheduling appointments, checking in clients

Qualifications:

Program Worker
Full-time Position – 35 hours/week
Summary of position: The Kizhaay Anishinaabe Niin Program Worker is responsible for the provision of Indigenous culture based community services focused exclusively on the engagement of Indigenous men and male youth committed to ending all forms of violence perpetrated against Indigenous women and girls. The Program Worker will provide one-to-one peer counselling and group activities and will be responsible for the overall implementation, coordination, facilitation, monitoring and evaluation of the Kizhaay Anishinaabe Niin Program.
Program Objectives:
· To support the reclamation and revitalization of men’s responsibility to end violence perpetrated against Indigenous women and girls;
· To ensure access to Indigenous Cultural Knowledge and increase understanding of traditional roles and responsibilities based on local Indigenous knowledge;
· Increase resilience amongst program participants by empowering men and youth-aged males to acknowledge and resolve their own trauma;
· Promote improvements in men’s overall wellbeing and foster enhanced community wellness through the provision of effective culturally based program service delivery.
Qualifications:
· Post-secondary education in Indigenous Studies and/or combination of equivalent and relevant educational experience;
· Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture and history, with particular emphasis on family violence, child welfare, the impacts of trauma;
· Understanding of Indigenous youth engagement models of practice, community engagement methodology, event coordination and program facilitation approaches;
· Knowledge and experience working with justice system involved Indigenous men and male youth;
· Minimum of four years of demonstrated and related work experience within an Indigenous organization or community;
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
· Ojibway language is an asset;
· Satisfactory criminal reference check;
· Past experience in statistical, quarterly and annual reporting;
· Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s license and have access to a vehicle and be willing to travel when required.
